Arsenal: Fans elated after reports over potential takeover by Aliko Dangote

Arsenal fans were elated after reports of a potential takeover from Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote. Speaking on The David Rubenstein Show, the 62-year-old has once again reiterated his desire to take over from Stan Kroenke at the Emirates Stadium in 2021.
It is a slight change from the plans he announced back in 2018 when he said that he wants to submit his bid to buy the club in 2020. It is thought that Dangote Refinery is the business plan holding up a move, hence the slight alteration from the Nigerian (via football.london). Arsenal’s owner, Kroenke has been in full control of the club since 2018, when he bought out rival shareholder Alisher Usmanov (via NY Times) though has faced criticism from sections of the support over the last few years as the club have fallen out of the Champions League.
As you can imagine, fans were left feeling increasingly excited after the comments from Dangote’s interview were made public as they took to Twitter to react. With that in mind, here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful expressing their delight.
