With Wayne Rooney returning to England for the start of 2020 (per Derby County’s official website), MLS side DC United will have an open spot available in their roster to fill for a marquee player, and Mesut Ozil could be that name.

Washington Post reporter Steve Goff reports that Ozil’s representatives will fly to the United States next week to meet with the MLS club about a potential deal for the Arsenal number 10, whose £350,000-a-week contract expires in the summer of 2021 (per Sky Sports News).
The former Real Madrid midfielder has been linked with a move away this summer (per the Mirror) but Ozil looks set to remain in north London for now. However, this latest rumour of a move to the US has got some Arsenal fans excited about a potential deal, and supporters took to social media once the news began to gain traction.
