Arsenal fans were displaying their excitement after the club cancelled today’s pre-match press conference ahead of their clash against Everton, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Freddie Ljungberg was due to sit undertake the media duties ahead of the Premier League game, however, it has now been cancelled until tomorrow.
Speculation has been rife all week that Mikel Arteta is due to take over as the club’s head coach, and today’s cancellation could be the first sign a deal is close to completion.
ESPN were reporting that an announcement with regards to a deal could be today with Arteta due to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal.
Manchester City were said to be unhappy with the Gunners last night as they claimed that they were yet to be approached by the north London giants over taking Arteta from their grasp (via MEN).
Fans were over the moon after the press conference was cancelled as they took to Twitter to react.
