Watching his stunning return to form this weekend, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern were once again chanting Danny Welbeck’s name after his injury nightmare. Two goals against Southampton had the Gunners in the bar dancing, with the England international providing a fresh sense of optimism to them, even despite their lack of activity on the transfer front.
So, in typical Arsenal fashion, they’ve opted to leave the 26-year-old out of tonight’s squad for their home game with Watford tonight, much to the dismay of many.
To be fair, the 26-year-old’s start on the south coast this weekend was his first in 10 months, so perhaps Arsene Wenger is peppering his appearances in the first-team with caution, though many would love to have seen him continue his return with another strong showing against the Hornets tonight.
With that in mind, here’s how Twitter reacted to Arsenal leaving Danny Welbeck out of their squad.
Why is welbeck not involved in the match day squad

I know welbeck can't have started again tonight but not on bench is poor. Ox can't do anymore than he did Saturday same with Lucas #arsenal
