Arsenal players will be hoping for a fresh start after the international break, but fans are in no hurry to forget the issues of the past two months.
Is Patrick Vieira the man to save Arsenal?
The Gunners played 16 consecutive years in the Champions League under Arsene Wenger, ending in the 2016/17 season, and the club have been looking back fondly on that period. Their official Twitter account posted a video of Per Mertesacker’s first goal for the club against Tottenham in November 2012, where he got on the end of an excellent Theo Walcott cross.
That season, Robin van Persie scored 30 goals in the league, and they finished third behind Manchester City and Manchester United. Fans saw the tweet by the club and, aside for the now regular calls for Unai Emery to be sacked, they weren’t pleased that there’s more positivity to be found in past successes than there are in today’s side.

We’re like Liverpool of old. Living on our past.

#EmeryOut, we keep reminiscing about the good ol’ days

I’m tired living off past glory, wonderful though the memories are. Here we are, best chance of a top four finish for years but sliding inexorably down the table. Fans unhappy, squad unhappy #timetochange #EmeryOut

Arsenal fans, what should Unai Emery do to take your club back to the Champions League?
