Plenty of Arsenal fans have given their damning verdicts on Nicolas Pepe's debut season after a question was raised by AFTV Media on their Twitter page about how supporters have rated his first campaign.

Pepe's move to the north London club was a record transfer for the Gunners at the time, costing a whopping £72 million from LOSC Lille, as per the BBC. The 24-year old signed a contract for five years and reportedly felt very emotional about the transfer, but claimed that he made the right choice.

However, some Gooners have not been impressed with Pepe so far, and made their feelings known underneath the tweet. That is despite the Ivorian international, now valued at £46.8m, having scored six goals and provided eight assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this term, according to Transfermarkt.

One fan called him a 'showboat', and this can perhaps be justified by his lack of successful dribbles, where Pepe averages 2.7 per Premier League match at a success rate of just 57 per cent, as per Sofascore. Maybe the winger needs to try less skills to beat defenders in the top flight.
