Unai Emery, for the most part, has been a popular man at Arsenal since he arrived in the summer. The Spaniard’s task was a huge one, as Arsene Wenger’s legacy at the Emirates will be timeless, but he’s taken over the mantle with relatively little by the way of a transitionary period.
Granted, Arsenal haven’t set any fires alight in the Premier League this term, but they’re in with a chance of finishing in the top-four in the Premier League, and at points under Wenger, that was merely a pipedream.
However, despite his popularity, there is one thing that Emery has done that has divided fans, and that’s his treatment of Mesut Ozil. Ozil is one of Europe’s best players and he’s been a focal point within the Arsenal team since his move from Real Madrid.
That’s changed this season, though, with the German rarely called upon by his Spanish boss. Indeed, he’s made just 14 league starts this term, which is not enough for a player of his quality.
He did, however, get a rare Premier League start against Bournemouth on Sunday – and he certainly proved his worth. The German bagged a goal alongside two assists, and he undeniably was the star of the show.
I just don’t think you understand…

Indeed, he offered everything that Arsenal have lacked in recent weeks, with his creativity and passing making Arsenal far more deadly moving forward.
Following the game, Arsenal supporters have taken to Twitter to discuss his display, and it’s fair to say that many supporters are targeting Unai Emery. They just can’t work out why he hasn’t relied on the German attacker more often.
See what they’ve had to say below. ..
Don’t think Emery understands either.

I find it hypocritical that after such a performance, and so much praise heaped on Mez, @UnaiEmery_ still doesn’t trust him to play every single game. Now i know he can’t guarantee consistency in EVERY game but he has vision and a pass a world-class pass in him pic.twitter.com/KJz6KlV4Tc

Dear Unai Emery, benching this guys will make you unpopular… Defend your best players make them feel important in return they will bring you results

I think I do
It’s probably because “he’s Arsene Wengers man”
But the sooner Unai gets over that the better
