Arsenal: Fans hit out at Matteo Guendouzi after his comments on supporters

Matteo Guendouzi enjoyed a brilliant start to life as an Arsenal player when he burst onto the scene against Manchester City. He was lauded by pundit Martin Keown, who claimed he was impressed with the then 18-year-old (MOTD 2 via Daily Star).
However, that seems a long, long time ago as some fans recently lashed out at the France youth international after his comments on what the supporters expect from him. Guendouzi has claimed that expectations have changed since he first joined the club, something that hasn’t gone down well with the north London faithful (via The Mirror).
He has been relegated to the bench in recent weeks, starting just three of the last 11 Premier League fixtures (via Transfermarkt). His performance in the most recent draw away to Burnley saw him get a hammering from the north London faithful and his statistics shows exactly why he was lambasted. The 20-year-old played no key passes, won no aerial duels, no tackles and made no interceptions in a rather anonymous display (via WhoScored).
These fans aren’t too happy with the midfielder after his comments as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Emirates Stadium faithful, with one claiming that ex-Gunner Cesc Fabregas would ‘laugh’ at Guendouzi’s remarks:
He has improved in shooting. That’s all I can see

Man needs to go to the gym with kolasinac and papa… Weaker than a wet noodle on the pitch and slower than a cripple wearing timbs

Jack Wilshere & Cesc Fabregas would laugh.

You play with commitment but your decision especially at goal mouth is more than horrible.

some times, these kids need to shut up. Talks too much, exposes himself to ridicule.
