Arsenal: Fans label Gilberto Silva as the club’s greatest ever Brazilian player

Arsenal fans have been flooding Twitter to label Gilberto Silva as their favourite Brazilian player in the club’s history.
After being pressed into choosing their favourite the South American country, fans chose the midfield man dubbed the ‘invisible wall’.
He joined the club after being embroiled in a dispute over his wages at Atletico Mineiro, with Arsene Wenger paying a measly £4.5m for the player (via Independent).
All in all, Silva made over 240 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 24 goals and assisting a further 10 as he went on to win five major trophies (via Transfermarkt).
His time at the club is best remembered for his contribution during the unbeaten Premier League league season in 2003/2004.
The north London giants became the first team in top-flight history to win a league unbeaten since Preston North End in the 1888/1889 campaign (via BBC).
Fans were adamant that Silva is the best Brazilian to play for the club as they took to Twitter to drool over the Premier League winner.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
Edu and sylvinho were really charismatic players. But should be Gilberto, one of the main reasons to have the invincibles imo

Gilberto. Always underrated both now and when he was in his prime. Maybe we took him for granted but just imagine him in our midfield now.
