Arsene Wenger is looking to re-write the offside law in a bid to end the current controversy surrounding VAR, according to The Mirror.
The British publication is claiming that the Frenchman believes the introduction of the technology has exposed the law ‘in its current guise as being loaded in favour of defenders’. Offside decisions have caused quite the uproar in the Premier League due to the fact goals are being ruled out by mere millimetres (via BBC).
Pundits have spoken of their displeasure over the use of the system and the ruling out of goals due to marginal decisions with Graeme Souness calling for change (via Sky Sports). Meanwhile, Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling was also far from happy when his goal against Chelsea was ruled out by fractions as he joked about it on Twitter (via Raheem Sterling).
