The former England international also revealed that, when he came up against the side, he couldn’t compete with them physically (Sky Sports via Football Daily). Indeed, Arsene Wenger’s team from the early 2000s is one of the most famous in English top-flight history, having gone an entire league season without defeat, the first side to achieve the feat since Preston North End 115 years earlier (via BBC).

Carragher endured a horrible record against Arsene Wenger’s men during the first decade of the 21st century, winning just four of 20 league games (via Transfermarkt). He seemed to have warmed the hearts of the north London faithful, though, who took to Twitter to voice their agreement with the pundit after his comments on the Invincibles.
