Arsenal fans are full of praise for former striker Ian Wright on what is the 28th anniversary since the legendary forward signed for the Gunners.
Wright signed for the north London side from Crystal Palace for a minimal fee believed to be £3.6m (via Transfermarkt).
The 55-year-old went on to have one the best careers Arsenal have ever seen from a striker as he scored 185 goals in just 280 appearances, to become the club’s all-time leading goalscorer (via Soccerbase).
The record was eventually broken by Thierry Henry after he scored a brace against Sparta Prague in the Champions League in October of 2005 (via Sportsmole).
Wright was hugely successful with the north London giants as he won five major trophies in a mere eight years with the club.
Fans were understandably full of praise for their former striker as they took to Twitter to show their appreciation after the club’s Twitter post.
