Many Arsenal fans are raging after the north London club were linked with a £60 million move for Issa Diop according to the Metro.
As per the report, the Irons player is likely to seek a move away this summer if the Hammers are relegated this season, with the east London side currently sitting in 16th in the Premier League table, level with 18th-placed Bournemouth on 27 points (via BBC).
The Gunners, on the other hand, may be looking for defensive recruitment in the summer transfer window if they can achieve Champions League football for next season and wish to kick on. Indeed, they’ve conceded 36 goals this season and the performances of their defence have been slated at times this season by pundits such as Noel Whelan and Rio Ferdinand.
Diop is currently rated at £31.5 million according to Transfermarkt but Arsenal may have to pay almost double that if they want to secure his services for next season according to the report.
Will Arsenal pay £60m for Issa Diop?
Many Arsenal fans are raging at the price tag on Twitter, with one fan even claiming that he is ‘not supporting Arsenal again’ if the move goes through:
