Plenty of Arsenal fans have reacted to a revelation from former player Denis Suarez after he talked to The Athletic (via LT Arsenal) about his time at the north London club under ex-manager Unai Emery.
As per the outlet, the Celta Vigo man claimed that the Spanish boss told him that he was looking for a winger, where Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitayan played. The former is now at Everton and the latter is currently on loan at AS Roma.
Suarez revealed that the wing was not his best position, but Emery insisted that he come and play on loan, then said that the club could sign him. However, a permanent move never materialised as the 26-year old only made six appearances in all competitions for the Gunners last season, according to Transfermarkt.
Moreover, the Spanish international was played in four different positions at the Emirates, off both flanks and in the middle of the park (via Transfermarkt).
Should Arsenal have signed Suarez permanently?
These Arsenal supporters on Twitter reacted to the revelation from Suarez:
Don't think he would've been a bad signing if not for the injuries. Why we always end up with injured loan signings in January I'll never understand

Still a bit annoyed we never got to see anything of him seemed like a decent player.

Did the same with Ceballos tbh! Had a good debut and then was dropped permanently without reason! Arteta has come in and given him a chance and he has performed superbly! Denis was unlucky tbh! Can’t judge anyone’s ability if they don’t get a chance

Should have signed for us.

You can tell he killed so many players in different ways! I hate it when managers play players out of their position! Same when I see Auba on the left!

Only good decision he made was not signing him permanently
