Arsenal: Fans react wildly to reported £30m Alex Iwobi bid

The transfer window is set to end with a bang, and for Arsenal fans, it could be rather exciting.

With Laurent Koscielny and Carl Jenkinson both sold and the Evening Standard reporting that the Gunners are keen on bringing in a centre-back, the final few days of the window seemingly appeared to be all about looking for a new defender, but Everton have now thrown a spanner in the works.

Football London and the Daily Mail report that Everton have made a reported £30m bid for winger Alex Iwobi as an alternative for Wilfried Zaha, and as you would expect, this surprising piece of news sent Arsenal fans on social media into meltdown following a day where L’Equipe reported via Get French Football Now that the Gunners were close to signing Philippe Coutinho.

And, it appears as if the Toffees’ pursuit has taken a twist as Sky Sports report that Arsenal have rejected the £30m bid, but Everton are expected to return with an improved offer before tomorrow’s 5pm deadline.

Nevertheless, here is what some Arsenal fans had to say about the £30m bid on Twitter…

Iwobi came through the Arsenal academy and made his first-team debut during the 2015/16 season.
