Arsenal fans take to Twitter to slam Arsene Wenger

Gunners fans criticise Wenger for side’s struggles in recent years
After a 22-year marriage ends in divorce, there’s always bound to be a bit of hard feeling and resentment. And that’s exactly the case with Arsene Wenger and his relationship with Arsenal fans. The Frenchman has kept his distance this season from the Emirates and allowed Unai Emery to lead the Gunners into a new era, but it appears some supporters of the club haven’t yet forgiven him for the final few years of under-achievement during his reign.
Speaking to the BBC, Wenger revealed that he missed Arsenal because he left his heart there, and added that he still supported the Gunners and that they would forever be his club.
Yet, despite the sentiment, some fans took to social media to slam the Frenchman for his role in leaving the club in turmoil, holding him responsible for signing average players and handing out ‘ridiculous contracts’.
Indeed, a few Gunners supporters on Twitter insisted that they didn’t miss Wenger at all, and that he should have made his departure from the Emirates years ago.

You ruined the club by ga handing out ridiculous contracts to average players and signing people like Xhaka and Mustafi for £70 milliom

One big issue…You stayed too long, taking all the blame for everything on behalf of the poor administration hence the club just continued to deteriorate.

Wenger pls! Nothing lasts forever
If Fergie could move on, you can as well

He was such a legend at our club but he should have told us the truth about Arsenal's situation, he may have been removed from his position but at least us fans would know exactly what to do.

No one wants him, despite him continually saying he would be back in management soon. That says it all! Arsenal put up with him for too long unfortunately, and those last five years or so will always tarnish his legacy at the club.
