Having been booed by large sections of the Arsenal crowd upon his substitution during a home game last month, Granit Xhaka has appeared to take aim at his detractors with a social media post that he published following Switzerland’s Euro 2020 qualifying win over Georgia.
The 27-year-old took to Instagram (@granitxhaka) to say “Happiness is when you are satisfied with yourself and don’t need the confirmation of others”, with the post shared on Twitter by Arsenal supporter Patrick Timmons (@PatrickTimmons1).

Xhaka drew the ire of many Arsenal fans at the Emirates Stadium recently when, upon being booed as he was substituted during a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace, he slowly made his way off the pitch and cupped his hand to his ear, appearing to shout a profanity in response to the hecklers. These Arsenal fans on Twitter did not take kindly to Xhaka’s Instagram post, calling for him to get out of the club:

Let him go .. He offers us nothing.. Arsenal is the biggest club he will play for .. Players like Cazorla wants to play just one more time for us and he’s here indirectly blabbing ..

Good leave then, worst signing we had in years

let him leave. As long as his still an arsenal player we shall roast him for his awful performances. That wont change
