Arsenal: Fans think ‘happy’ Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still leaving - Arsenal

Some Arsenal fans think ‘happy’ Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is going to leave the club in the summer after a comment he made from an interview was relaid on the official Arsenal Twitter page.

The former Dortmund striker claimed that he was ‘really happy’ with the club and said that it was ‘a pleasure’ to be at the football club. Still, the striker has yet to sign a new contract with the Gunners which will probably leave a lot of fans worried, even after these comments given the fact he was linked with an exit by the Independent earlier this year.

Aubameyang has found himself as the new club-captain under Mikel Arteta following Granit Xhaka being stripped of the captaincy earlier this season, highlighting his importance to the club. Not only is he important off the pitch but also on it, as his stats show that he is Arsenal’s most influential player in terms of goal-scoring ability once again.

According to Transfermarkt, the Gabonese international has scored 20 goals in just 32 appearances for the Gunners this season, yet again their top goalscorer in all competitions. Indeed, he achieved this feat in his first full season last year and was joint top goal-scorer in the Premier League, sharing the Golden Boot with both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
