Arsenal: Fans unhappy after being linked with move for ex-Valencia man Marcelino

Arsenal fans were unhappy after they were linked with a move for ex-Valencia manager Marcelino.

According to Spain’s Goal, the north London side have contacted the manager over their vacant head coach role.

The 54-year-old is reported to have rejected the advances of fellow Premier League club Everton, leaving the north London side as front runners.

Marcelino was the coach when Valencia were swept aside by the Gunners in last season’s Europa League semi-finals.

Despite his sacking, the Spaniard proved to be a success at the club as he qualified for the Champions League and ended their 11-year trophy drought when they beat Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey final last campaign.

He was sacked by Spanish side Valencia at the start of the season after reports of a rift with the club’s owner Peter Lim (via AS).

Despite his success, fans weren’t too happy after being linked with the coach as they took to Twitter to react.
