Arsenal’s latest bid for Wilfried Zaha has been met with derision from some of the club’s fans – because it involves one of their young prospects spending another year away from the Emirates Stadium.

According to The Independent, the Gunners’ latest offer consists of a £55m bid with £10m dependent on clauses – though Crystal Palace seem to be unmoved by the improved proposal.

That’s despite the Gunners offering youngster Reiss Nelson into the mix – giving the winger’s services away for a year should the Eagles accept their demands.

Other possibilities mentioned in the report as potential makeweights include Bukayo Saka and Carl Jenkinson – though Palace are not thought to be swayed by Arsenal’s offer.

Arsenal previously approached Palace with a £40m bid for Zaha, which was ultimately unsuccessful – though these fans are not happy at the prospect of Nelson being offered to bring the Ivorian to North London.

Nelson spent last season on loan at Hoffenheim, and after a promising spell in Germany which saw him end the season on seven goals for the Bundesliga side, it seems as if these Gunners supporters were looking forward to seeing him in red and white, judging by the responses to the news of Arsenal’s latest bid breaking:
