Arsenal fans unlikely to see major change this summer after recent comments

Arsenal fans here in the Tavern are sadly hoping to see the back of Arsene Wenger’s time with the Gunners, as a successful future is being eyed up at the Emirates.

Indeed, there’s no doubt that Arsene Wenger has produced some unforgettable memories during his time in North London, with The Invincibles back in the 2003-04 season being a highlight for many of our local Gunners. And, it appears that he’ll attempt to make plenty more memories at the Emirates, as according to reports from beIN Sports (via Sky Sports), Arsene Wenger has his eyes set firmly on seeing out the remaining two-years in his contract.

It appears that all the speculation surrounding the Frenchman leaving at the end of the season has been put to bed, as Wenger has pledged to see out the rest of his contract with the Gunners. Although, it’s yet to be seen as to whether the club’s hierarchy will be willing to let the Frenchman live out the rest of his contract.

Indeed, the doubts surrounding the manager’s future have surfaced due to Arsenal heading for a second successive season without Champions League football, a massive blow for a club that’s gotten so used to living life on the big stage. And, with another disappointing season now heading under his belt, it could cause for some important discussions to be held at the end of the season.

And, Wenger spoke to beIN Sports about the recent claims:

“I have always respected my contracts, I would like to remind you I said no to all the biggest clubs in the world to respect my contract so that’s always what I try to do.

“After that, we have as well to accept in our job that the future is the future but for me, that’s to win the next game.”

Landlord’s Verdict:

Seeing Arsene Wenger having the intentions of running down the remainder of his contract won’t have any benefit for the Gunners, as the past two seasons have shown his inability to produce the magic of yesteryear. Therefore, if the club’s hierarchy don’t take actions into their own hands, then it could cause for some hostile crowds at the Emirates for next season.
