Arsenal fans were vehemently disagreeing with interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg after the Swede commented on the side’s performance against Standard Liege.

Following the 2-2 draw away to the Belgian side, Ljungberg came out and claimed that his side did really well in carrying out the game plan in the first-half (via football.london).

He then went on to clear Sokratis and Konstantinos Mavropanos of any blame for Liege’s goals, claiming they couldn’t be slammed as they were deflected.

The first-half proved to be something of a dreary affair as both side’s struggled to impose themselves on the game. However, the Gunners did have the majority of the game, having the most shots on goal (11), the most shots on target (4) and possessing the ball more than Liege (via WhoScored).

However, Ljungberg’s comments don’t seem to have impressed the fans as they took to Twitter to lash out at Unai Emery’s temporary successor .
