Arsenal fans were displaying their negativity with regards to rumours linking them with a move for Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng.

According to The Sun, the Gunners are interested in signing the German centre-back and have made initial contact with the Bundesliga side.

It is thought that the Bavarian club wants £13m for the sale of the 31-year-old (Sky Sports Germany via @ZRAFC), who has been told that he is not guaranteed a starting spot by coach Hanis Flick.

The Gunners were dealt a cruel blow yesterday after it was revealed that Calum Chambers suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury that will keep him out for up to nine months.

This season, Boateng makes more passes on average than any one of Chambers, David Luiz or Sokratis (via WhoScored) with a higher pass completion rate (his is an impressive 88.3%) while he’s also made more interceptions per game (1.2) and won more offsides (0.7) over the same period over any of those aforementioned names.

However, fans were still adamant they would not take the experienced Germany international as they took to Twitter to voice their doubts over any signing.
