Arsenal fans want the potential signing of Nathan Ake after reports emerged linking the Gunners with a move.
Who would you like to see replace Chambers?
According to The Telegraph, the north London outfit has joined a raft of Premier League clubs in registering an interest in the Netherlands international.
Chelsea, his former club, are thought to be the favourites to sign him, however, due to the £40m buy-back clause they inserted when they sold him to AFC Bournemouth in 2017. Indeed, the likes of Manchester City and Everton are also reported to be keen.
The report comes amid terrible news for the Gooners, who announced that Calum Chambers will be out for up to nine months with a serious knee injury.
Prior to his injury, Ake was actually outperforming both David Luiz and Sokratis in pretty much every defensive metric per game in the Premier League this season – including making more clearances and interceptions, being dribbled past fewer times and winning both more fouls and more offsides.
Red Bull Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano is also thought to be a target for Mikel Arteta’s side, who had a bid rejected for the Frenchman last summer.
Fans were in agreement that they’d take the 24-year-old man in the January transfer window as they took to Twitter to react to the reports.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
I would 100% take Nathan Ake, but I don’t think we will get him. Not only is he too expensive, Bournemouth would probably want I’m excess of £50m. Chelsea also have first refusal on him, so I think he will end up back there. #afc

A rumour I can get behind. Not sure thats the position we should be looking at strengthening, though.

Left foot and a ball playing defender, him and David Luiz would create 10-15 goals a season alone if the fullbacks are consistently how they were against United last night.
