Arsenal: Fans would welcome Philippe Coutinho as Mesut Ozil replacement

Some Arsenal fans have welcomed the idea of having Philippe Coutinho as a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil after the Brazilian international was linked with a move to the north London club in the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report also states that fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all enquired about signing Coutinho alongside Arsenal.

The 27-year old is currently valued at £63 million according to Transfermarkt and has scored 41 goals and provided a further 37 assists in 152 appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool. The Gunners would hope that Coutinho can replicate if not better these stats should he move back to England in order to help them be where they want to be in the top flight.

Looking at the player’s final season at Liverpool (2017/18 on WhoScored), he averaged more shots per game, more dribbles and more through balls a game than his German counterpart did in the same Premier League campaign.
