Arsenal forward keen on progressing career, could leave this summer on bargain deal

While the problems at Arsenal are quite clearly rather deep-rooted indeed, the win over West Ham last night at least gave some of the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern reason to cheer.

The Gunners face a battle to even finish in the top four and star man Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a move away from the club as they continue to fall behind the elite.

So, bizarrely enough, even though they are to do with a player leaving, reports from the Daily Mirror have at least taken our punters’ collective minds off of the Sanchez saga.

According to their report, Emirates youngster Chris Willock could leave north London this summer after failing to agree a new deal at the club. Despite ongoing negotiations, the England U19 international hasn’t yet reached an agreement and is out of contract next year.

The 19-year-old is thought to be keen on progressing into a first-team sooner rather than later and Celtic are understood to be keen on him, with the Hoops potentially able to sign him on a smaller compensation fee than rival Premier League clubs.
