Good news for Arsenal, source reveals club open to £30m defender bid

The Arsenal fans drowning their sorrows (for what feels like a while now) in the Transfer Tavern have finally been handed some reprieve following reports from Football Insider.

It is claimed that a source close to the Gunners has revealed to them that Serie A giants Roma would be open to bids of around £30m for in demand defender Kostas Manolas.

The Greek international’s Herculean exploits in the Italian capital are not thought to have gone unnoticed, with Chelsea and Manchester United also both linked with big money bids.

However, the Gunners are said to have identified the 25-year old as as a top target and have complied an extensive dossier through frequent scouting reports from Rome.

Defensive frailty has been a sewing motif in North London for a number of seasons now and played a large part in their alarming dip in form that saw them fade away from title contention.

Is Manolas the right man to solidify Arsenal’s defence?
