Arsenal hopeful star man will stay after £35m arrival

While Deadline Day didn’t have the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern in a state of frenzy like some of the other punters, things are all good with our North London locals right now.

Arsene Wenger sealed a double deal late on into the window to finally get the Emirates faithful back on side, much to the delight of the previously deflated Gunners.

While it remains unclear as to whether or not Lucas Perez and £35m Shkodran Mustafi will be the men to win Le Prof an elusive fourth Premier League, the latter could have a huge impact ALREADY.

That’s because, according to the Daily Mirror, those behind the scenes in North London are reportedly hopeful the 24-year-old can convince Mesut Ozil to stay.

The playmaker has another two years to run on his deal with the club he joined back in 2013, though is understood to have been anxious to see their ambition before he extended.

With Wenger remaining largely inactive in the window until his late double deal, the club are said to be hopeful that Mustafi’s arrival could prove they are heading in the right direction.

Though the former Valencia man is yet to even take to the field as an Arsenal player, the fans propping up the bar this evening are already hailing him as a saviour.

Should he convince the former Real Madrid superstar to stay, of course.
