Arsenal hopes of landing prolific striker dashed, deal ruled out

Gunners fans have had only bad news this week and are well and truly drowning their sorrows here in the Football Transfer Tavern, well we hate to do it but, you’ll be needing another pint of TT Ale, Arsenal fans.

The Emirates faithful are pining for a big name striker this summer, and in the light of that, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with moves for some top talent, but as yet nothing has materialised.

Having been snubbed by Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, and then missing out on Gonzalo Higuan Le Prof has turned his attentions to two new targets.

Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with a move to North London in recent weeks, but that appears to have cooled down.

Following that Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi was the next target, but now that deal looks to be off the table as well after new manager, Frank de Boer, made a bold statement.

The Dutchman said: “We’ll keep every player we don’t want to sell,

“Icardi is very important for me and he’ll stay. He’s young, he can learn a lot, but he’s already proved himself to be fantastic. We can work very well together, there won’t be any problems.”

Not pretty reading for our punters of an Arsenal persuasion.
