The Premier League has now confirmed a new date for the fixture between Arsenal and Manchester City which will now take place on Tuesday, less than eight days before the match is due to kick-off.
Of course, with this new schedule of the game, the travelling fans were basically given just a week’s notice to arrange their travel from London to Manchester to see the first clash between master and pupil in Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta.
James Benge, football.london’s journalist, however, didn’t really take that update well and he was quick to label it disrespectful to the fans who now need to turn their schedules upside down to make it to the game.
He shared it all on his Twitter profile.
Completely and utterly disrespectful to travelling fans to give them a week’s notice to book travel to Manchester. A disgrace.

It seems that the match, which was originally scheduled for March 1, was postponed due to Manchester City’s participation in the EFL Cup Final and the new date we’ve been given now only became available last Thursday night when Arsenal lost 2-1 to Olympiacos in the Europa League round of 32.
Still, it’s all too little too late and this new arrangement is bound to create problems for the fans.
Arsenal fans, what do you think about the new schedule for this huge clash? Do you agree with Benge’s verdict? Let us know in the comments below!
