Granit Xhaka’s performances for Switzerland at Euro 2016 have had the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern dreaming with wide eyed wonderment about how the new signing will take to the Premier League by storm.
After seeing their side remain almost entirely in the transfer market last year, the Gunners propping up the bar are in wonderland after seeing reports emerge from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
They claim that manager Arsene Wenger is casting a watchful eye over the situation of Mario Gotze at Bayern Munich, who has been linked with a move away.
The World Cup winner has seen his progress stall in Bavaria following a controversial move for Borussia Dortmund in 2013 and is thought to be a target for former boss Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
However, having missed out on Jamie Vardy, the Frenchman is said to be eyeing up the 23-year old as he bids to draft in more attacking reinforcement.
While the Bayern ace is more naturally a central attacking midfielder, he has been utilised as an out and out forward at international level, especially during Euro 2016.
Should Wenger be looking at a more natural centre forward?
