It promises to be a nervy summer for the Arsenal fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern as they pray to the high heavens their club will embark on a major summer spending spree at last.
While much of the talk naturally centres around potential arrivals, the nature of the Gunners’ disappointing season has cast the futures of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez into doubt.
Both superstars have two years to go on their deals in North London and have been linked with moves away.
Ozil particularly has been instrumental in getting the club to finish in second place after a dazzling season at the Emirates, in which he recorded a stunning 19 assists.
Now, the 27-year old has revealed his focus is solely on the upcoming European Champions with Germany and that talks with Arsenal will be on the back burner until then.
With quotes sourced by the Metro, he said: ‘I have two years left on my contract and will be in talks with the club,’
‘Now I’m concentrating on the Euros in France.’
Will Ozil extend his stay at Arsenal?
