Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are in need of some good news having been the butt of all the jokes in the bar, especially since having lost out on Gonzalo Higuain last week.
However, according to reports from Gazzetta World the Argentinian’s move could now benefit the Gunners as they chase Juventus striker, Mario Mandzukic.
The 30-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Juventus Stadium with the arrival of Higuain from Napoli and, although he is still thought to be a valued member of the squad, he could be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
As well as the Gunners, London rivals West Ham and Watford have also been linked with the Croatian international, however, interest from The Emirates may sway his decision to leave Turin further.
The striker, who won the Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2013, notched ten goals in 27 Serie A appearances last season.
