It’s probably fair to say Arsenal have quite the midfield conundrum.
Granit Xhaka’s career at the Emirates looks all but over, Dani Ceballos has only shown glimpses since his loan move from Real Madrid in the summer and then there is Lucas Torreira.

Pablo Bentancur (Torreira's agent):
“Ancelotti tried to take him to Napoli. Arsenal, was a choice because their football suited his skills–He is doing well, but the change of role doesn’t make him happy, it must be said, this year the whole team is not doing well." pic.twitter.com/SkR5UWPbSk

The 23-year-old has often been used in a more advanced role compared to last season, something his agent believes he is not comfortable with.
“Torreira is doing well at Arsenal, even if the change of role does not make him happy, but it must be said that this year the whole team is not going well,” Pablo Bentancur was quoted as saying by Calciomercato (via FourFourTwo).
Bearing that in mind, it could be quite the rebuild job in midfield for Arsenal next season.
Is Granit Xhaka finished at Arsenal?
If something does not change quickly, it would not be a surprise to see both Xhaka and Torreira head for the exit door before the start of the 2020/2021 campaign.
Factor in the uncertainty surrounding Ceballos’ long-term future in north London, and Matteo Guendouzi could find himself lining up alongside some new faces in the middle of the park next term.
A lot will depend on whether Unai Emery is still in charge or not. But as things stand, Arsenal could have quite the midfield rebuild job awaiting them.
