Arsenal make major decision over divisive West Ham target, pivotal in his career

Our wise old Landlord in the Transfer Tavern has had to deal with the Arsenal fans who’ve frequented over the years lamenting the inconsistency of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Across his half decade in North London, the 22-year old has shown glimpses of brilliance, though they have been far too few and far between.

After another failed title tilt, the England man has been linked with moves to West Ham United and Leicester City, with the North London locals in our halls often actually in favour of his departure.

So, imagine the Landlord’s surprise when he saw the delight in their faces upon reading reports from the Daily Mail suggesting the club were now going to stick by their man.

Amid his return from injury, Arsene Wenger and his charges are reportedly happy to wait until next season to reassess the situation of the former Southampton prodigy.

In fact, this inconsistency is ironically wholly indicative of the Gunner’s career thus far.

Wenger is said to be a huge of his talents and is willing to give him a chance to impress himself in the first-team once again, rather than axing him after a frustrating campaign last time out.

Is Wenger right to put so much trust in ‘The Ox’?
