Arsenal are braced for a massive summer window in a few months time, with the club desperate for new additions.

Every area of the field could be set for redevelopments from a new set of wingers to a new centre-back, and of course, the task of replacing Aaron Ramsey is high up on Arsenal’s summer ‘to do’ list, and one midfielder to be linked with the club has fans divided.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is set to leave the club this summer after failing to agree on a new deal with the Red Devils, and Arsenal have been reported per football.london as one of the clubs interested in signing the Spanish playmaker.

At 29, the former Athletic Bilbao star is in the prime of his career, and with an abundance of experience in both the Premier League and Champions League, Herrera could be a good pickup for the Gunners this summer, but try telling that to the fans.

Herrera falls into a special bracket of players that are absolutely beloved by fans of his club and despised by supporters of other teams, and for Gooners, the Spaniard is a player who they as a community aren’t quite fond of.

The midfielder is someone who has constantly tormented Arsenal players and fans with his dirty tackling and general mischief in games against the north London side, and in doing so has painted himself as a villain of the club despite only playing a handful of games against the Gunners.

As well as his attitude and past clashes with Arsenal, Herrera’s signing would mean one of Lucas Torreira or Granit Xhaka would miss out on games. The two midfielders are seen as the Gunners best midfield duo and disrupting that chemistry will greatly hamper Emery’s system that he is trying to craft.

Herrera would pound-for-pound be a good replacement for Ramsey, but his past clashes with Arsenal players and the potential disruption of the Torreira-Xhaka midfield make him someone Emery should steer clear off this summer.

Arsenal fans, would you take Herrera at the club next season? Let us know!
