The Arsenal fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are excited by the new appointment of Unai Emery and if he could even go close to emulating the success of Arsene Wenger, the Gunners will be in safe hands.
The Gunners had another season without Champions League qualification and deservedly so because too much if wrong with the team. To start with, the defence needs to be revamped, then Arsenal need to acquire a top winger, someone our punters think should be PSV’s Steven Bergwijn who is valued at £7.2 million on Transfermarkt.
Arsenal have massively improved their main strikers with the addition of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette but the wide players desperately need improving. Unai Emery likes his teams to attack the opposition with pace, and that’s exactly what the signing of Steven Bergwijn would bring.
The young Dutchman has again been super impressive for PSV, scoring 8 goals and getting 11 assists this season as well. At just 20-years-old, the ability Bergwijn has shown is unbelievable and if he continues on this same path, there is no reason why he couldn’t be a huge success at a club like Arsenal. Although Arsenal need more help in defence, Bergwijn wouldn’t bring that but what he does bring is more of an attacking edge to the Gunners, a player that is capable of dribbling through the opposition players with ease.
The Dutch U21 star isn’t afraid to shoot either judging by his good goalscoring record for a winger. Bergwijn has the ability to play across the front line and seeing as Arsenal may not have a huge budget this summer, the 20-year-old is a player who won’t break the bank now but could still be a huge success.
