Arsenal open talks to land marquee South American in January

Dancing on the pool tables ever since their 5-1 win over London rivals West Ham United, the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are on cloud nine.

Within touching distance of leaders Chelsea, the Gunners look so much stronger this season and Arsene Wenger’s name is again one celebrated amongst our north London locals.

In fact, thanks to reports from the Sun, it’s even more so now.

They’ve revealed the club have opened talks with AC Milan over the potential signing of forward Carlos Bacca in January, finally giving Le Prof a top level marquee marksman.

Strongly linked with the Hammers themselves over the summer, the Colombian tends to bag goals wherever he goes and averages a goal every 2 games for the Rossoneri.

Arsenal currently have Lucas Perez, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck all on the injury table, leaving them a little light up front.

The clinical South American is also understood to have fallen out with those at the San Siro over a recent trip to train with former club Sevilla, further opening up the possibility of a move to the Emirates.

Our Gunners in the Tavern hope a traditional fox-in-the-box such as the 30-year-old can give Wenger’s men another dimension in attack as they hunt for the Premier League title.

How much would Bacca improve Arsenal? Let us know below..
