Gunners fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are growing desperate watching their clubs very public search for a new striker, but news that our bar staff have picked up today may be a welcome change for the North Londoners.
According to reports from Squawka, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is ready to offer up an improved bid to Lyon for top summer target, Alexandre Lacazette.
Le Prof saw a bid in the region of £29m rejected by the French side of Tuesday but has not given up his pursuit of the 25-year-old and is preparing an offer of £33.7m.
However, as Squawka report, the offer will be Arsenal’s final attempt the bring the French international to The Emirates.
Wenger is in the market for the striker and after missing out on Higuain has turned his sights onto the 21-goal forward as an alternative.
If the second bid fails and the Gooners end their interest in Lacazette, then they are reportedly considering a move Juventus’ Mario Mandzukic.
