Arsenal ready to add to attack, 26-goal Wembley hero of huge interest to Wenger

Vincent Janssen

The Arsenal frontline has taken a battering in the Transfer Tavern this season, with both Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott come under fire for their lacklustre performances.

While our resident Gunners are praying for the likes of Karim Benzema or Zlatan Ibrahimovic to arrive, it is fair to say they’ve met reports from the Telegraph with an underwhelmed look on their faces.

Indicative of the club’s recent transfer dealings then.

It is claimed that manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move for Dutch international forward Vincent Janssen this summer, after intensely scouting him in recent months.

Though he’s proved lethal for AZ Alkmaar this season, scoring 26 goals in his first real season in the Eredivisie, perhaps he’s not the calibre of forward the growing ever frustrated fans are looking for.

Still, the 21-year old is thought to have impressed the club with his technical ability, as well as his obvious proficiency in front of goal.

He notched a penalty against England at Wembley last month and is extremely highly rated in his homeland.

Is Janssen good enough to start for Arsenal as things stand?

Thank you,
