Arsenal and Unai Emery are having a successful time together and the future looks bright for the pair after spending 22 years under the reign of Arsene Wenger.
It was always going to be a tough, transitional period for Arsenal when their great manager Arsene Wenger left but Unai Emery thus far has proven why he could be such an exciting appointment for the Gunners.
However, one fatal mistake he seems to have already made is not signing Leon Bailey when he had the chance to in the summer transfer window.
Bailey, (who is valued at £40.5 million on Transfermarkt) has been a constant threat to any Bundesliga opposition him and Bayer Leverkusen have faced together and Arsenal seem to have missed out on one of the most promising players in world football.
It was believed a deal was close at one point over the summer but seeing how Arsenal’s wingers lack exactly what Leon Bailey has in pace, trickery and goal-scoring ability, it’s unbelievable to think the Gunners didn’t push harder to get the deal done.
In his short two games on the pitch thus far this season, Bailey has scored one goal in two games, continuing that fine form that earned him so many plaudits last season.
12 goals and 6 assists in all competitions didn’t tell the story of Bailey’s campaign as his electric pace down the wing always had defenders on the back foot and he was a big reason in Leverkusen’s goal haul, as they only failed to score in 8 Bundesliga games last season.
Leon Bailey is the man Arsenal miss in their team and if at all possible, they have to return to try and prize him away once again.
