It’s been a long six months since Reiss Nelson last scored a goal for Hoffenheim, but that barren spell finally came to an end last weekend.

The 19-year-old winger sealed a vital win for the Bundesliga club on Saturday as Julian Nagelsmann’s side claimed a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin to move Hoffenheim into a Europa League spot in the table, and for Nelson, it was a massive relief lifted from his shoulders.

The on-loan starlet from Arsenal had an explosive start to life in Germany, scoring six goals in his first 11 games with Hoffenheim as Nelson looked to be the next in line of English players to be a success abroad, however his form quickly dipped due to injury and being left on the bench for most games, but his latest turn in fortune has the teenager back on the right path.

Nelson is without question one of the most talented players to come through at Arsenal in some time, with many fans eager to see if the winger can one day become a first-team player in the future, and if the England U-21 international is able to perform well in the final Bundesliga games of the season, the lifelong Gunners fan will have the platform he needs to succeed at his boyhood club next season.

With five games of the season left to go in Germany and Hoffenheim still in the run-in for a Europa League spot, Nagelsmann will likely turn to Nelson for that attacking spark the club have been lacking in his absence, and if the Englishman is to deliver, he will find himself in the Arsenal first-team picture next season.

He could be a secret weapon for Arsenal in the Premier League next season as not many teams have witnessed him in action, and his pace and finishing ability could work wonders at the Emirates.

Arsenal fans, does Nelson have a shot of being involved with the first-team next season? Let us know!
