Rob Green joined Geoff Shreeves on The Debate and discussed Mikel Arteta's project at Arsenal and how the new coach is building his identity around young players.

Arteta's revolution at Arsenal is in full effect and even though the Gunners are still miles away from where they want to be in the future, certain steps in the right direction have been taken.

Green believes that the new coach has time on his hands due to the young players he's using and putting his faith in, and that could be crucial in the team's overall development.

Here's what he said on the matter on The Debate podcast (3/3/2020): "Looking at Arteta and looking at what he's done and what he's got, he said I need this long term project and this is to build an identity. He's got time with these young guys, which is critical because, you know, you look at the older guys and you say sign up or go."

This project that Arteta is working on at Arsenal was there to see in their latest victory over Portsmouth in the FA Cup as a very young squad featuring the likes of Bukayo Saka and Reiss Nelson secured a 2-0 victory over the home side.

After a long while and after some tough periods for the club, they might finally be moving in the right direction.
