Perhaps indicative of Arsenal as a whole over the past couple of years, it seemed as if the Gunners were building up a head of steam in the transfer market.
However, for the Gunners in the Transfer Tavern, it’s looking to be the same old story.
Having signed Granit Xhaka, the North London giants looked to be closing in on a move for Jamie Vardy.
Well, the England international would reject overtures emanating out of London and the club look to have been rebuffed in attempts to land both Gonzalo Higuain and Alexandre Lacazette.
Now, things could get even worse for those at the Emirates.
According to Spanish outlet Sport (via Sport Witness), key duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have demanded new deals from the club after growing unhappy with their £180k-per-week contracts.
Both men are vital to Arsene Wenger as he plots what could be one final title tilt, though are reportedly happy to go on the transfer market and wait for an offer more in keeping with their stratospheric demands.
Arsenal fans – who would you rather sell, Sanchez or Ozil?
