Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are having a pop at their Man United compatriots in the bar this afternoon, as news has made it to the bar that the Gunners have won the race to sign a defender they were both after.
According to reports in The Sun, Arsenal have completed the signing of Norwegian wonderkid, Erik Tobias Sandberg from Lillestrom SK.
The Sun are claiming that Jose Mourinho’s Man United were, along with other Premier League clubs, were chasing the 16-year-old but The Gunners have won the race.
The Norway U16s captain was spotted during an international against England’s U16s in February side and has been a target for the Gooners youth setup ever since.
The youngster will join the academy at London Colney on a scholarship with a view to signing a permanent professional deal on his 17th birthday.
