Arsenal set to continue title surge by scuppering Liverpool deal for stunning playmaker

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern who’ve enjoyed watching their club move for Granit Xhaka and potentially Jamie Vardy have been met with some more good news.

Thanks to reports in Germany, via the Sun, they’re dancing on the pool tables.

The Gunners are reportedly ready to make a last ditch attempt to land Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze this summer, who has been strongly linked with an emotional reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

However, the North London giants are now said to have thrown their hat into the ring, emerging as a possible landing spot should the 23-year old leave Bavaria.

It is claimed manager Arsene Wenger is weighing up a £27m move for the World Cup winner, as he aims to craft a squad capable of landing him an elusive fourth title.

Though the Frenchman was reportedly chasing Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the club’s refusal to sell him has now led him onto the trail of the Bayern ace.

Will Arsenal win another league title under Wenger?
