Form has been far from stable as Arsenal have endured a real rollercoaster season. The Gunners fans around in the Transfer Tavern agree that their squad needs strengthening this summer if they want to return to the top four and fight for Champions League football.
Arsene Wenger has again been the forefront of questions, this season more than ever. The Gunners manager of more than 20 years has struggled immensely to get the best out of a talented bunch of players and Arsenal have faced the consequences for this, again, missing out on the top four for the second season in a row.
Their squad and managerial positions need a big re-think this summer but the punters agree the most important part of the upcoming transfer window will be who Arsenal bring into the club.
A player who has the potential to be a top player for the Gunners is Leicester’s Demarai Gray, valued at £13.50 million on Transfermarkt. Gray arrived in Leicester following a move from Birmingham in 2016, much to the envy of other Premier League teams. Although his potential was huge, thus far, Demarai Gray hasn’t quite delivered on that as expected.
This season the 21-year-old has proven to be a big player for the Foxes, featuring in 36 games but the winger hasn’t delivered much in front of goal, just the four strikes and two assists. Some punters were quick to question why Arsenal should buy him but the fact is he still has years ahead of him and surrounded by top international players, Gray would only improve if he came to the Emirates.
Some may take persuading but we genuinely think that Demarai Gray has the potential to be a top England star so Arsenal should capitalise on the youngster whilst he is still available.
