Following the announcement that Arsene Wenger would be extending his stay at Arsenal, the fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are expecting a big summer.
While Le Prof still has a huge amount of convincing to do, many of our resident Gunners hope the fact he’s staying hints the club will be making big moves in the market in order to get back on track.
Still, a story from Bleacher Report would hint at the same old story for Arsenal. They claim forward Theo Walcott is disappointed at losing his place in the starting XI of late, with the England international benched for the FA Cup final.
Though the 28-year-old is said to be ‘annoyed’, it’s not thought he will push for a move away from the Emirates, reportedly safe in the knowledge he’ll feature under Wenger again. Walcott will only look for a move away from north London if he feels the manager doesn’t want him, apparently.
Despite the fact he notched 19 goals this season, Walcott has often failed to wholly convince our resident Arsenal fans, and many wouldn’t mind seeing him leave. Still, he’s captained the side fairly regularly of late, so the former Southampton prodigy looks like remaining a key figure at the club.
