Speaking to The Mirror, Hector Bellerin has revealed that he is ahead of schedule for his return from injury for Arsenal.
The news has been welcomed with jubilation here in the Transfer Tavern amongst our resident Gunners punters who were worrying they’d be without him for a serious amount of time.
Indeed, the Spaniard’s absence has revealed a real lack of squad depth in the right back area at the club and so, ahead of January, our Arsenal fans will be hoping for more options down that side as they look to win the title for the first time since 2004.
In the meantime, though, Bellerin says he will be back sooner rather than later.
Bellerin said: “It’s going really good. Better than I expected. It is a hard injury to recover from and a bit painful.
“But I am going to try to be running from this week and hopefully I’ll be back on the pitch in less than four weeks.”
Arsenal were without the Spanish international once again at the weekend, but did not miss him too much as they strode to a 3-1 win over Bournemouth at the Emirates.
They face West Ham this weekend and some of our Gunners fans are worried about Carl Jenkinson being exposed by Aaron Cresswell down that side.
“Jenksinson just isn’t good enough,” one said. “And with the form that Cresswell is in at the moment he could really fancy causing some damage to us down that side. I hope I’m wrong but I am worried.”
