One of the most glorious aspects of the proverbial silly season in the Transfer Tavern is watching the boozed up punters trying to pronounce names from all over the footballing world.
Granted, Oguzhan Ozyakup is somewhat of a tongue twister, though both the Arsenal and Manchester United supporting punters may just have to get used to it.
That’s because, according to Deporte Valenciano, the two Premier League titans are battling it out to land the Besiktas star.
The report claims the Gunners are leading the chase for the 23-year old, who rather ironically STARTED his career at the Emirates.
He was a product of the youth academy in North London before leaving for the current Turkish champions, where he emerged as one of the club’s star players.
Scoring 10 goals and registering a further 9 assists, his form in Istanbul is also said to have attracted the glances of Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils.
Valencia, flush with cash after selling Andre Gomes to Barcelona, are also understood to have cast keen eyes over the attacking midfielder.
Do Arsenal really need another attacking midfielder? Let us know below…
